Family Trivia: Virginia gave the family its "Super Q' logo.  The first Superman movie had just come out and Superman memorabilia was everywhere and on everything.  The way Virginia told the story she and her friend Bob were looking for a logo for our family business so they went to a graphic artist and came away with "Super Q."

Remembering Virginia

" I worked day and night with Virginia teaching her some of my best dance routines."    - Shirley Everett-Dicko
Our first restaurant had been open maybe six months when Virginia and I decided to attend Alameda Community College.  We both loved dance so we took a dance class together.  Virginia had taken dance in high school and I followed her lead.  So, we decided to try out for the dance squad that would perform during halftime at basketball games.  I was confident that I could make the squad and maybe chosen as the leader because I had been the head song leader at my high school but I worried about Virginia.   Virginia was eight years older than me.

I worked day and night with Virginia teaching her some of my best dance routines. Well, Virginia not only made the squad but was chosen the leader.  We would get out of working in the restaurant by saying we had to either practice our new dance routines or we had to dance that night at one of the basketball games.  We had so much fun and Mom would forever refer to that time as our pom pom days.
